Eyeglasses are the standard choice of vision correction for many individuals because they are effective, safe and easy to use. Suitable for both children and adults, they come in different styles to address the diverse needs and preferences of patients.
At Nova Vision Center, we are committed to providing you with only the best for your visual health, ensuring you get the vision care and correction you need and deserve. This includes offering a wide range of eyeglass options, such as:
Single Vision Eyeglasses – Fitted with lenses offering one prescription power or a single field of vision, single vision eyeglasses are designed to correct myopia (nearsightedness) or hyperopia (farsightedness). Commonly, they also function as reading glasses, with an eye doctor using the same prescription powers for both eyes or tailoring them specifically to a patient’s needs.
Bifocal Eyeglasses – Commonly associated with aging, bifocal eyeglasses are great at addressing presbyopia associated with the loss of elasticity in the eye lenses, which typically occurs in middle or old age. As their name suggests, bifocal eyeglasses have lenses with two viewing areas split by a visible line: the smaller one for reading and the larger area for distance viewing. For best results, your optometrist will check your prescription, of course.
Progressive Eyeglasses – With three viewing areas for near-, intermediate- and distance-vision, progressive eyeglasses are multifocals. They’re much like bifocal eyeglasses but they have a seamless design, meaning the viewing areas don’t have distinguishable lines between them.
Typically, progressive eyeglasses are prescribed to people aged 40 and above who already have distance-vision eyeglasses, but require enhanced near- and intermediate-vision for reading and computer use.
