Our Team

Dr. Renner is a graduate of Berry College in Rome, GA and the School of Optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center. He is interested in the care of children and adults with special visual needs, as well as double vision, low vision and family eye care. This includes patients with head trauma, neurological disease and retinal disease in order to maximize visual function.
 
He is certified by the Board of Optometry to use both diagnostic and therapeutic medications. Dr. Renner was honored as the 1993 Vanguard of the Year by the Virginia Optometric Association. He sat on the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee for over ten years, contributing to the formation of local Medicare policy with our regional carrier. Dr. Renner is a consultant to the Arlington Free Clinic, area nursing and rehabilitation centers, and a former consultant to the Arlington Geriatric Clinic. He is a past president of the Northern Virginia Optometric Society.
 
Dr. Renner and three of his children have been involved in Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps eyecare services and in October, 2009 were featured on NBC News regarding health care reform. He was also featured on WAMU radio regarding the use of electronic medical records. 
 
Dr. Renner is married and has four children and five grandchildren. He enjoys cycling and hiking as well as caring for the many family pets.

Dr. Perry graduated from James Madison University and Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) with honors in 2008 and immediately joined the practice.

A patient of this practice as a very young child, he has gone from hating his glasses, to loving them, to prescribing them for others. He relates well to those who struggle in school because in childhood he, too, struggled due to a vision issue; and after being treated by Dr. Rinearson, made better progress in school.

Dr. Perry enjoys working with all ages, including children who have problems in school. For a student or adult who has suffered from concussion or TBI he works closely with primary care physicians and schools to prescribe and assist in the patient’s recovery.

He is past president of the local optometric board and is a member of the Air Force Reserve.

Dr. Perry is married and enjoys swing dancing, pottery, and rock climbing.

Dr. Terlesky is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. She works with patients of all ages and specializes in caring for patients with keratoconus, dry eye and binocular difficulties.

Dr. Terlesky dreamed of becoming an optometrist from the young age of 10 years old and has been working in various optometry practices since she was 15 years old. During her 4th year optometry rotations, she served at various locations providing eye care to Native Americans, veterans, active-duty military, and their families all around the US.

As an active member of the Virginia Optometric Association Membership Committee, Dr. Terlesky strives to advocate for eye care professionals and their patients. She now travels to train other Optometrists how to perform specialized dry eye techniques to improve eye care all along the East Coast.

Dr. Terlesky is a personal trainer and advocate for overall health for her patients. Growing up in Charlottesville, she participated in many sports (volleyball, track, soccer, and even synchronized swimming). During her spare time she continues to stay active playing in a local volleyball league and can often be found on the golf course playing (and competing) with her husband.

What drives your passion for optometry? There's always room to learn! How are you helping patients live their best lives? I help them select eye wear and eye care that enable them to enjoy their lives. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients.

How are you impacting your local community? I enjoy providing eye care to those in need whether locally or internationally. Hobbies/Interests: Dance- I've done or tried most forms!/Dance fitness classes/Dancing at parties; Music; Other Fine Arts; Cultures.
